Ikaria is served daily from Athens by Olympic Air and Sky Express, with a flight time of around 45 minutes. There is also an aeroplane from Thessaloniki to the island several times a week. Ikaria's airport is located near Agios Kirykos on the south side of the island, about 65 kilometres from Armenistis. The taxi journey to Villa Dimitri costs 70€. We can send a taxi to pick you up on request.

By Ferry

From Athens airport by taxi, express bus or metro to Piraeus, journey time approx. 1 hour. The journey time of the ferry ‘Mykonos’ of the Blue Star Ferries line is 7-8 hours. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any binding information about departure times here, as the ferry schedules are constantly changing and vary depending on the season. You can find the current ferry timetable at www.gtp.gr.

If your travel plans allow, take the ferry to Evdilos. This harbour, which is a 25-minute drive from Villa Dimitri, is called at 5 times a week in summer. In summer, the ‘Mykonos’ leaves Piraeus early in the morning between 6 and 7 am and arrives in Evdilos around 2 pm. On Tuesdays and Sundays, however, it calls at the more distant harbour of Agios Kirykos. From here, it takes about 1.5 hours by taxi over 60 kilometres of winding roads to Armenistis.

TippIf you want to use the time before the ferry departs for a short detour to Athens, you can leave your luggage at the Filippis ticket office. The underground station is located directly opposite the harbour. The journey to the city centre (Monastiraki) takes about 20 minutes.
