Über Samos nach Ikaria
Ikaria erreicht man von Deutschland aus am bequemsten per Charterflug nach Samos. Vom Flughafen aus fährt man mit dem Taxi ca. 15 Min. nach Samos Stadt (Vathi), und von dort weiter mit der Fähre nach Ikaria (2 1/2 Stunden Fahrzeit).

Über Athen nach Ikaria
Mit dem Schiff:
Vom Flughafen mit dem Taxi, dem Expressbus oder der Metro nach Piräus (je nach Verkehrslage 60 -120 Min.).  Die Anlegestelle der Fähren nach Ikaria befindet sich je nach Fährlinie am Gate 9 oder 2. Die Fahrzeit nach Ikaria beträgt 5-7 Stunden. Über die Abfahrtszeiten können wir hier leider keine Auskunft geben, da sich die Zeiten immer wieder ändern und je nach Saison verschieden sind. In Ikaria gibt es zwei Häfen: von den Hauptort Agios Kirykos aus fährt man mit dem Taxi über 60 km kurvenreiche Straße ca. 1,5 Stunden nach Armenistis. Wir empfehlen daher bei Möglichkeit mit der Fähre nach Evdilos (17 km bis Armenistis) zu fahren. Evdilos wird fast täglich angefahren.

Tipp: Wenn Sie die Zeit bis zur Abfahrt der Fähre noch für einen kleinen Abstecher nach Athen nutzen wollen, können Sie Ihr Gepäck im Ticketbüro Philippis zur Aufbewahrung deponieren. Gleich gegenüber des Hafens befindet sich die U-Bahnstation. Die Fahrt zur Altstadt (Monastiraki) dauert ca. 20 Minuten.


Mit dem Flugzeug nach Ikaria
Wer sich die lange Fährfahrt sparen möchte, kann auch von Athen mit Olympic Airways nach Ikaria fliegen. In der Nebensaison 4 mal und in der Hauptsaison 6 mal wöchentlich. Der Flugpreis beträgt ca. 70 € einfach. Ikarias Flughafen liegt in der Nähe von Agios Kirykos. Buchung über www.olympicair.com

Wichtiger Hinweis
Wegen eines Sturms oder auch aus unbekannten Gründen ergeben sich oft Änderungen im Fähr- und Flugfahrplan. Deshalb informieren wir alle unsere Gäste 2-3 Tage vor Abreise über die aktuellen Fahrzeiten. Zur Abholung organisieren wir für ein Taxi für Sie. Bei starkem Sturm (abWindstärke 9) wird die Fährschifffahrt eingestellt. Auch wenn dies zum Glück sehr selten ist, müsste bei Ankündigung eines Sturmes wenige Tage vor der Rückreise eine frühere Abreise in Erwägung gezogen werden. In einem solchen Falle fallen keine Übernachtungskosten für die gebuchten und nicht in Anspruch genommenen Nächte an.

Flying by way of Samos Island
As there are no direct international flights, the most comfortable way to travel to Ikaria is by charter flight to Samos. From the airport you take a taxi to Vathi harbour (ca. 15 minute drive), and then the ferry to Ikaria (2-3 hour journey). 

Flying by way of Athens
In Athens you have the choice between the ferry ( a 5 -7 hour journey) and an flight ( 40min.). 

by ship: From the airport you take either a taxi (ca. 40 Euro), the Airport Express Shuttle, or the underground to Piraeus harbour. The trip lasts 60 - 120 minutes, depending on the traffic. The ferry to Ikaria leaves from Gate 9 or Gate 2. The trip by ferry lasts 5-7 hours. Unfortunately we can't give you an exact schedule as the departure schedule is subject to change. The up-to-date Schedule can be found at the internet address www.gtp.gr. 

In Ikaria there are two harbours: Agios Kirykos and Evdilos. The trip from Agios Kirikos  to Armenistis over winding mountain roads (ca. 60 km) takes 1 1/2 hours. We recommend that if possible, you disembark at Evdilos (17 km from Armenistis).

 
tip: if you have enough time before the ferry leaves, you can deposit your luggage at the ticket office and make a short visit to the old town of Athens.The Metro-Station is right across the street. The trip to the center (Monastiraki) takes 20 minutes.

by plane: for those who want to avoid the long journey on the ferry, it is more comfortable to take the Athens Airways flight to Ikaria. During the low season, there are 3 flights per week. During the high season there are 6 flights. The planes usually leave in the morning. The airport of Ikaria is located close to Agios Kirykos. Booking at www.olympicair.com

Prices for taxi 2010: from Evdilos 20 Euros, from Agios Kirikos 60 Euros and from airport 65 Euros.

Use our information service
Due to storms, strikes etc., schedules of ferries and planes are subject to sudden changes. We inform all our guests 2 - 3 days before departure about the most recent schedules and send a taxi to pick you up at the harbour / airport. Look for a taxi with the "Villa-Dimitri"-sign.
In case of storm (wind-force 9), ferries are not allowed to leave the harbour. When a strong storm is announced a couple of days before your departure, it could be better to leave Ikaria earlier in order not to lose your return flight. In that case, we will return your money for the nights you booked and didn't spend in Ikaria.
